Is White Dog Getting Psychotic?
It’s fun downtown with a dog because every other dog owner is so friendly and is cool about dogs sniffing, wants to know about your dog, etc. And I ride up and down an elevator with her and other dogs. But it is hectic and very noisy.
90% of time Isis is at as well behavied as the other dog(s)- maybe pulling on leash a little, but no barking (in early post I mentioned how I ran into my dog groomer walking her 3 dogs and they were going absolutely NUTS trying to get to Isis - it was so funny watching her get tangled up in crosswalk as we crossed paths, and Isis just was a little curious and her dogs were all barking.
Now Isis is exhibiting this behavior- only with certain dogs, I don’t know the pattern. She doesn’t bark (bark coller) but she has a loud whine that is very annoying. Sometimes when I leave the loft at same time as another dog, I have to make sure I select a path that doesn’t cross paths.
And now she is waking up at 5 am with her whine, whether crated or sleeping with me. I am getting physically tired as I’ll take her for 1/2 hour walk at 6 am, then try to go back to sleep but she will not let me. Oh, and yesterday she chewed a hole in my new down comfortor/duvet - seems like she has some “issues”..

“No, I said SIT!!!!”
I thought she’d be getting better with all the walks and socialization with people/dogs, but in last week I have my doubts. Hopefully it’s just a “phase”- we all go through them, but I am starting to investigate in-house dog training (I can’t drive anywhere to do the group stufff anyway). I had private training for my old JRT, and learned a lot (most the trainers are training you, not the dog- same as what Dog Whisperer preaches).
I’m sure it will be lots of $$$ (mine before was $60/hr) and lots of practice between sessions, but it probably will pay off many times if she keeps up this behavior.
I’ve been called psychotic before, maybe I’m rubbing off on her.
