How Isis Fits Into The Downtown Ecosystem
I’ve just recently noticed that there are 2 types of homeless people- ones that beg for money to buy a beer or a bottle of wine, and those that push shopping carts around collecting cans and bottles than selling them at recycling place for their money. So the 2nd type cleans up after the first type, finding all the left-behind cans and bottles in the parks, bushes, and under benches. Then they go buy some food, usually fast food or from a catering truck, and leave the wrappers and trash around on sidewalks. Now Isis comes along and tries to eat half of this garbage, and I have to grab it out of her mouth and throw it out in a trash can, thus cleaning up after homeless type #2.
So I’ve identified a new mini “circle of life” between the homeless and me and Isis ![]()
