Immigraton Support March Passes My Building Yesterday
An immigraton Rally In Support Of Elvira Arellano, a Mexican national from Chicago who has already been deported once and was sent back to Mexico a second time. The interesting part of this story is that she left her 8 year old son with the minister of a church in Chicago- he is a citizen as he was born here. The protestors were upset about the spliting of mother and child, but that’s the law.
Police were out in force as the group marched to City Hall, an estimated 500 people when organizers had hoped for 5000. The interesting part to me was they walked by my building, which is not the normal “protest” route (I’ve witnessed 4 immigration protests in past 5 months- and actually walked right through one last weekend by mistake).
These things put a little damper on Isis time in the grass at City Hall, but I guess some people have too much time on their hands…
A MORE DETAILED ARTICLE ON THE SITUATION (No!!! I am not a “Revolutionary Communist” but I just did a search for more info and this article seemed fairly informative)
