Now I Can Really Show You What’s Up With White Boy/White Dog!
I’ve been bummed because I run into many cool/interesting/scary things on my walks around downtown, but I can’t get it captured in either a pic or a video due to the clumsiness of trying to hold a camera while Isis is pulling, jumping, and barking. I tried the “IsisCAM” (video cam around her neck) but it was way too “jerky” as Isis is too hyper.
I found the solution and I think it’s going to work amazing in my quest to document downtown experiences with a dog. It’s SPY VIDEO SUNGLASSES!!! I had seen them before, but quite expensive (over $1500) and that did not make sense. But on eBay I found a vendor selling a new set-up for around $350, including sunglasses with embedded video camera and microphone in the bridge, and a portable digital video recorder (DVR) that stores video on a SD Flash memory card (1 GB holds about 4 hours of video- longer than battery life, I think). The sunglasses look a little “funky” if you look at them close, but from afar they look like Oakley knock-offs.
It is a “wired” system so each temple of glasses has a wire that I run behind my ears and down my back, inside of my shirt, to the tiny DVR in my pocket. Nowadays so many people have Ipods or cellphone headphones so a casual glance at the wires would not raise any suspicion.
