New LAPD HQ Construction Progression
The construction of the new LA Police Department Headquarters has been moving along at a rapid pace since they started going “up”. For the first few months, all of the work focused on the 2 stories that are underground, and getting a sound foundation in place, with truck after truck of cement being pumped into the “hole”.
When the foundation was complete, the huge crane was brought in along with truck loads of steel girders arriving daily and being moved and placed into position by the crane. Changes are now evident every day. Here’s a photo chronology of the changes since I’ve moved in.

September 22nd, 2007 - Notice position of crane- it was rainy with lightening so I guess they decided to “ground” the tall “lightening rod”
