A Filming That Will Not Bother Me At All

I’m actually pretty excited about this- my favorite TV show, “The Office”, is filming in my building’s lobby for the next 3 days (and in The Edison, too).  I love the dry humour and the way the show is filmed, so it will be great to watch it happen- I think this may be the [...]

Higgins Reflects Well On LAPD HQ

Almost all of the glass has been installed on the facade of the new LAPD Headquarters.  The glass, especially on the south side, is very interesting, with it’s mosaic of etched (?) glass and regular glass.  From various angles, the building takes on very different looks.
In the morning light, the reflection of the Higgins building [...]

I Wish I Were Jewish…

Walking around downtown, I get accosted by Christians almost daily.  If it’s not the obnoxious guy at 7th and Broadway yelling at the top of his lungs that I need to “find Jesus and repent” or the folks handing out religious flyers to all passer-bys at 5th and Broadway and 1st and Spring, some random [...]

Do You Want A Dog?

If you are thinking about getting a dog, PLEASE check out this site and see if there are any dogs that interest you.  This site, DOGS IN DANGER,  makes me so sad as it shows how many days each dog has left before it is euthanized.  And, speaking from experience, getting a pedigreed dog from [...]

Sneakers for $12,000???

While walking Isis in Little Tokyo, I ran across a rather unusual store- a vintage sneakers store that has TONS of inventory, and some of the most expensive sneakers I’ve ever seen.  RIF LA is the sister store of LA Avenue in Tokyo, where expensive, limited edition sneakers (mainly basketball styles) have been fashionable for [...]

St. Patrick’s Day Parade - What A Peaceful Lunch Time!

The downtown Los Angeles St. Patrick’s Day Parade came right by my loft today, and right when Isis needed a walk, so I went out to see what was happening at around 11:15 (parade was to start at 11:30 near Olvera St. and come south on Main St. to 5th St).
The streets had just been [...]

My “Textard” Rant

Generally I enjoying walking around downtown, especially with White Dog, but sometimes the other pedestrians can get on my nerves, and I feel like I am ready to explode.
Lately, I’ve been running into, literally, more “Textards”- folks that are wondering around in a zig-zag path while reading or typing text messages on their phones.  I feel [...]

I’m Back To Blogging…

Well, it’s been over 6 weeks since my last post- I wish I could tell you’ve I’ve been busy doing cool, exciting things since my last post, but I haven’t.  On Feb. 1st I made a pact with myself to get in great shape for summer; this is kind of an annual event for me, [...]
