I Guess It Is Homeless Season Again
It used to be that the homeless would come to beach areas in winter time- I heard that many were from out of state and wanted to get away from snow. Now, as of last week, I am seeing more homeless are sleeping on street in my hood. Most seem harmless and are usually sleeping. But I want to catch up on why the street people population is cyclical around City Hall downtown. I don’t think it is the poor economy. Is it just overflow that missions can’t handle? They don’t bother me and are a little amusing. I would like to help but have decided against that due to recent posts about “Meth Head Troy” and the Central Division Officer who explained more about the homeless to me.
But I did see a funny sight just now as I was out- a “crazy” guy was standing in front of a restaurant near my building and pretending to comb hair and “vamp” in front of the glass reflection, while a few patrons were eating right on other side of glass. I’m sure it added to the atmosphere for them. I guess he’ll be a new “camper” in my neighborhood by the looks of it.
EDIT: I’ll ask Troy “The Ice Man”- he says he “moves” up to Flintridge in winter because when it rains he can sleep under the overpasses. I’m not sure I fully understand that, but consider the source…
