Banquette Cafe Offers “Sunday Supper”
Sounds interesting, and I haven’t tried this place out yet. And they are right- Sunday night dining choices are limited, at least in Historic Core…
===========================================================
Hey Everyone,
This Sunday, May 25, we are launching Sunday Supper, a new way to
hang out at Banquette on Sunday evening. We are offering a three
course meal served informal family style, for $13.
Menu:
Fennel, Orange and Arugula Salad
Lemon Chicken with spring vegetable ragout and roasted potatoes
Buttermilk Panna Cotta with strawberries
Pitchers of Sangria for $10
And of course all our fabulous regular wines will be available as
well.
Food served from 7pm to 8:30pm
Bar open until 10pm.
We are only offering this menu - no avocado toast - no matter how
much we like you!
‘Cause where else are you going to eat in downtown on a Sunday night?’
Seating is limited and you must RSVP to banquettecafe@ sbcglobal. net
or call us here at 213-626-2768.
Looking forward to starting the summer right, on our make believe
Main Street Cote d’Azur…
Best,
Monica
so are you going? if you are, jim and i will see you there!
May 25th, 2008 at 5:53 amCelia- I think I’m going to pass; chicken sounds great but rest I could live w/o. I hope to try it another Sunday though.
It was cool running into you, Jim and Wonton yesterday on our walks. Sorry if I seemed aloof but I was in my “IPod Zone” and I never see anyone I know, so I was shocked. I’ll probably be running into you folks more as I want to get to know the buildings down Spring and Main as I decide where to move. Of course I’ll be asking for your opinions too…
Have fun tonite!
May 25th, 2008 at 3:34 pmoh I was checking here to see how the dinner went. Ended up going to see Indiana Jones.. didn’t do the dinner but when we were heading out, seemed to be plenty of folks being seated. I think that it would be great to see this as an option in the future. I love strawberries.. (even if, as Joe says, the Chandlers are out of season).
May 26th, 2008 at 8:58 amIt sounds like it will be every Sunday at Banquette, but I need to get on the mailing list so I can see the menu weekly (someone from my bldg posted the e-mail, and I think attendance from Higgins was pretty good as the interest was high).
Good for Banquette- I’m looking forward to trying the regular menu too…
May 26th, 2008 at 1:50 pmyou should come and meet up with joe & me one of these afternoons at banquette!
May 26th, 2008 at 7:17 pmLet me know when you’ll be there and I’ll stop by- do they have a web site? I can’t find it and would like to see their appetizers, etc… darn, I’m always thinking about food!
May 26th, 2008 at 7:59 pmLOL.. I was there earlier tonight. I usually just get coffee. They have some yummy looking items on the menu though not to mention some pastries and in the mornings bagels and the like. They do serve a wide selection of wine and some beers and the like but I usually skip those. I’ve seen plenty of other folks imbibing so they must be alright.
I don’t think they have an online menu, however..

Oh, the reference to “avacado toast” in original e-mail made me think it was a kind of “small plates” place. A stiff double espresso would be good too though. Drop me a line if you think you’re going over there and I’ll come down and meet you some afternoon/evening…
