White Dog Is In The
“Dog House”
Received e-mail to the Higgins Bldg mailing list from property management stating:
Dear Residents of Higgins Loft,
There have been several dogs in the building that have been barking excessively, causing disturbance to the other home owners’ quiet enjoyment of the property. Please note this is against the rules of the building and must be addressed. If you own a dog that barks excessively, please contact management to discuss the options available to help relieve this condition, such as finding another dog owner to trade walking the animals or to hiring a dog walking service.
Now maybe there are “several dogs” but I think this was targeted at me and the guy didn’t want to talk to me directly because I had a run-in with him before when he decided to do an “emergency system power check” and announced it 15 minutes before they turned off power, and I had people hitting a server I have here, testing an app I wrote for Sempra. I was very irate with him and I think he doesn’t want to talk to me anymore.
But I realize Isis has been bad the last few days- I being sick and not being able to walk her, a new Albertsons delivery guy that was not “dog friendly” and caused Isis to bark each time he cmae in and out the door, my cleaning lady always stirs Isis up with vacuum, etc, and the kicker- Isis is in heat. In all honesty, there has been more noise from neighbors and in halls here- when Isis is stressed, she will bark at any bang on a wall or loud talking in the halls.
She’s already behaving better after 2 long walks today, and 2 more to go. But I’m just bummed. I know dog barking can be annoying, but it has been in daytime, and not incessant as I have been here to quiet her.
I hope she calms down with proper exercise. I really wish I had gotten her “fixed” but I keep putting it off due to not knowing a vet nearby and she is “in season” only twice a year. But it has moved up on the priority list for sure.
I hope I don’t get kicked out before my lease runs up at end of July! Bad, bad White Dog!!!
EDIT: I just got back from dog walk and I’m a little happier now- when I left my loft there WAS a dog that was incessantly barking somewhere down the hallway- it was barking all the time we walked to elevator and waited for it (it was not barking when we came back). So maybe Isis is only the 2nd worst dog…

I feel your pain about the white dog. I’ve had my dog so long, he’s like my son… it’s one of those things that makes you want to try and do something to help your fellow man (or woman, or dog).

Do you live in Higgins or nearby? What kind of dog do you have?
I’m hoping that White Dog (Isis) was just in a bad mood between being “in heat” and not being walked, but she is very alert to sounds coming from hallway, people knocking on my door and the street/construction, so I may be in for trouble…
