When A “Good Samaritan” Is Confused
I just got out of spending 2 nights at Good Samaritan Hospital- I had to take an ambulance there Monday a.m. as I had excruciating pain in my abdominal area. Took forever to get admitted and get on some pain medicine (granted, I probably should have gone earlier but was hoping for the best).
Some of you have been wondering why I was so quiet lately, and that is why. I probably will have to go back to a hospital later tonite or tomorrow for surgery, but I had to take care of a few things at home, and the doctors were not doing anything for me at the hospital other than not giving me enough pain medicine or enough medicine to sleep (I have not slept for at least 48 hours).
I finally got fed up with the confusion amongst the doctors/surgeons/nurses, and the lack of communication between them (one admitted that at first they thought I had life-threatening high calcium condition, then on next few blood tests it was normal and HE questioned lab procedure- I can’t afford that crap…). Other doctor kept pointing to a diet supplement I was taking (and he happended to be the fat slob that spewed uneducated advice about the supplement, that I had stopped taking 6 weeks ago and had completely cleared my system).
So rather than sit in an uncomfortably hot hospital room, in pain and unable to rest, I decided I could do that at home while tending to issues (read “White Dog” and Lease), I checked myself out for now. I hate to spend so much on CAT Scans, Ultrasound, and X-Rays, but it is coming out of my pocket and I don’t like the way they were handling me. More to follow…

holy crap! I hope they figure it out and help you.. hope things get better soon for you.. hope they find out what is wrong before any needless surgery.
