Little Tokyo Hosts “National Night Out” Tomorrow

This should be a fun event- from 7pm to 10pm, a street fair will be in full-swing on 1st St. between Los Angeles St. and Alameda St. There will be food, drinks (alcoholic too), rock and jazz bands, stand-up comedians, and martial arts/fighting demonstrations. The will be a huge police presence, as the intent of the event is to give local residents an opportunity to meet the local police officers that patrol their neighborhoods, in an effort to garner support for the people that make their communities a safe place to live.

Lsst year the event was held in the Arts District, and 2,500 people attended. This year the crowd is expected to grow considerably. I love Little Tokyo and plan on checking out the event from 7pm on…

Officer Central Division- are you going to be working this event? It sounds like a good patrol to be put on for the evening!

For more info, see the article in LA Downtown News, or call call Officer Jack Richter at (951) 532-5766.

    E,

Unfortunately, no, I will not be there. I am home and enjoying some MLB.

Say hello to Jack though. He’s an awfully nice lad and a character too. I believe he even used to be a child actor.

    Have a good one!

^bummer Central Division Cop (not that I know who you are or anything) but you guys put in so much time as it is, I hope you have a good evening off for a change! =)

Eric, SLO Richter is indeed very nice though I’ve only met him a couple occasions briefly. I have to say I’ve had good experience with all the cops I’ve met around downtown, though I know that isn’t always the case for some. (lucky me!)

ps: Eric, I will be there possibly with my bike.. I’m not wanting to miss any opportunities to take pix of the events so I’m still wondering if doing the bike ride will preclude me missing the other stuff.. the bands and whatnot. =(

Meeko- can you lock your bike? I don’t hink you want to be pushing it around through the crowds…

I know I’m going to stop by the Far Bar for an appetizer at some point (garlic fries?) so maybe we could pick a time a meet there if you are in area.

Central Division Cop - I met Jack tonite- very cool dude- I met a lot of great people and actually had one of my best times downtown- weather was perfect, pretty ladies, good bloggers, good food (mmm, Mochi!)- all around fun.

I’m sure you had fun researching the case of the disappearing single malt while watching ESPN- that sounds good too!

BUT I asked Jack about the “child actor” thing and he said he’d kick the ass of who ever said that… :0) Story/pics to follow-
