“Heros” Special Event At Higgins Sunday

I always watch the FilmLA notices of movies and TV show filming, as I like to know what I’m being inconvienced by as I walk White Dog. Today one stood out- not just because it’s being filmed at the Higgins and The Edison, but because of the phrases “Paid Audience 228″ and “Driving Scenes with Red Carpet in lot” in the scene description. Then I get an e-mail from the Property Manager alerting residents that the HOA has agreed to the a “Special Event premier of the TV show Heroes, in conjunction with The Edison, on Sunday night in Joe’s Parking Lot” (the lot behind Higgins that residents use), “after which the guests will move into the Edison between 9 and 10pm”. Setup in parking lot is all day Friday and Saturday, so this must be some event.

I’ve never seen the show before, but I like Haden Panettiere, and saw her on the red carpet next door at St. Vibriana once, so I’ll be out there looking for her… (I know she’s only 18, so I’m a dirty old man- get over it!)

Heroes is a pretty cool show, I watched it from Season One regularly you need to pay attention as there’s so many story lines happening at once and it hops around in time a lot. We have season One on DVD and thinking that Season 3 is coming out on DVD (blue ray)soon..

    Have a good time!

The wife and I are fans of the show and live down the street…can anyone show up for this thing?

Jogahs- Of course you can “show up” but that doesn’t mean you’ll see much (and I still don’t know what exactly is happening- hopefully it will become more apparent as setup procedes today and tomorrow).

I will post a comment if/when I find out more info about what the event actually is. It has to involve filming, as they did pull a filming permit, so it[s not just a “red carpet” event for new season…

I watched Heros for an episode of two, but I found it somewhat corny.

Take a look at FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”.

    It looks pretty promising.

hey dude…that was me at rite-aid. big D was inside buying dog food. he’s not the guy you think…a school teacher would be the last thing he’d be. Jogahs = D of DnA. and we walked past the higgins today. saw them setting up for the shoot.

Hey “A”- that’s cool it was you at Rite-Aid; I was sure it was your dogs but I was trying to negotiate around the beggers w/o tripping on your dogs - your dogs were not in the way- it was the dude in the wheelchair that almost got me :-)

I know we’ll run into each other again, as you are blogging about all my fav places- Rocket, Oragami, the Heros filming… I look forward to meeting Dennis- there’s another Dennis around that sometimes posts on my blog and I thought that was your man.

You have a cool blog- I’ve added “D n A on Broadway” to my blogroll…

Sorry but I haven’t been in the Rite-Aid today. I will most likely be at the Nickel Diner for breakfast/lunch on Sunday. Maybe then, although I still think I saw you at Weeneez one breakfast, sitting at the window seat and getting chatted up by Julie Rico.

Ha ha- thanks for chiming in Dennis- I thought that the “D” in “D n A” might be you… Downtown is getting to feel so “small town”, running into people I recognize is very cool. I’ll be looking for you at the Nickel…

hey there eric ;) I had a mad craving for ‘cheap’ fried rice (or actually some s&s meat at Lilia and guess what? I forgot they are closed on Sunday. bummer!

oh well I guess I didn’t need all those sugars anyway. ;P

Have you been to the Nickel since it opened??

Pamela- Downtown restaurant hours still suck. And I see one of the restaurants we “championed” has pulled the plug (Lime).

I was actually in Nickel and seated, but I was seated at worst seat (but only seat) on Sunday at about 11am. I had to get up and leave as it was almost clautrophobic for me- again, this was the ONLY seat like that- I should have just waited for another table. I WILL be back, and many times I’m sure.

The last 2 weekends I’ve had the “Tortillas Espaniol” at Redwood Bar- both Sat. and Sun.- it’s a great dish to try if you ever go there before 3pm on weekend.

I hope to see you and Sean around soon- maybe Art Walk I’ll get down your way.
