New Treats For White Dog!
White Dog eyes my new sheets and comforter with a mischievous look…
I finally had to break down and buy another set of sheets and a new comforter- all the bedding I own has holes in it, thanks to White Dog and her aquired taste for linens. I always buy bedding on-line, but this time I went so far as to use ebay and to bid- not just “buy now”. I think I got a couple of great deals: 1500 TC Egyptian Cotton (Cal King) for $49.95 + free shipping, and a silk-filled comforter with silk outer shell for $99.95+ $9.95 shipping.
I have a duvet ordered too, but believe it or not, my PayPal account got hacked somehow on one of the above transactions, and the perp cleared-out my bank account before I could pay for the duvet. PayPal must have been watching the fraudulant buyer, as they bought a Nikon camera and lens kit and had it shipped next day to Chicago, but UPS tracking showed an EXCEPTION- a Government Agency had put a security hold on the package- BUSTED! I got my money back on Tuesday, and all is well now.

Ouch…hacked paypal, huh? I’ve never been a fan of using eBay for that very reason…thankfully, you were able to get it resolved quickly. “Bunch of savages in this town…”
Hopefully Isis doesn’t mess with the sheets…that being said, what is your estimated life-expectancy on the new sheets?
November 13th, 2008 at 9:36 am1500 thread count?!? Can you even fold those sheets? They must be super thick. I suspect they’re double or triple-ply threading, which is thread count cheating, but even if it’s 500 thread count, for Egyptian Cotton, awesome deal, nevertheless. << can you tell I work at Bed Bath & Beyond?? Linens Department…
Isis is licking her chops in that photo.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:41 amD- Life expectancy is until I get blood on them, which might be soon as I have scratches/scabs from where Isis woke me up a couple of nights ago from my “Advil PM haze”, trying to get me to play at 2am… I’m convinced she’s part vampire and seeks out any blood. The paypal think sucked but honestly, it all was resolved faster than I expected; I’m pretty sure they were watching the hacker as they moved so fast. Thankfully as my checking acct was all my liquid funds.
Lola- You work at B,B & B? That’s a fun place to shop. Yeah, the sheets are pretty thick- didn’t wash them yet but I’m sure they’ll be a wrinkled mess, and I sure as hell am not ironing them. But they feel pretty good. The 300 TC bamboo from Target are comfy too, at about same price, but they have a ONE MONTH backorder on them. So it’s going to be eBay for awhile.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:20 amCan’t go wrong with Egyptian or Pima cotton, I say.
BBB’s just a part-time second job I picked up for some extra money & the discount. I have yet to see any of this “extra money” in the year and a half I’ve worked there since my entire paycheck pretty much goes back into that store. So yeah, it’s a fun place to shop!!
I take all the credit in keeping the company afloat. If only Linens N Things had hired me, they probably would still be in business.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:09 amI might have mentioned this in an e-mail Eric, but what about some “Bitter Apple” to keep Isis from getting at the sheets? Carter has never really had an issue with chewing but he does have a thing for tags (any tag on a rug, toy, anything…) so we sometimes spray the tag just so he won’t get any idea about the rest of the rug of such.
Lola: BB&B huh? Love the store … and there are so many items to look at. I am always checking out the stuff you see advertised on tv that is in stock there
As for sheets, we love our bamboo for some reason.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:15 pmB- I actually have some of the anti-chew stuff from when Isis was little, just in case. But it was more for legs of furniture, shoes, etc. The stuff I have I would not want on pillows or sheets! I’m pretty sure if I can stop bleeding like a stuck-pig I’ll be fine (my nose even bleeds when the Santa Ana winds hit ’cause it gets so dry… I can’t really blame Isis too much).
November 13th, 2008 at 7:19 pmSkidrowdude, have you looked for keyloggers on your computer since the paypal hack?
November 15th, 2008 at 1:36 pmMB- everythings pretty locked-down on my PC- I really think it was an “inside job”- someone that had access to PayPal or EBay info. It’s amazing how fast government swooped in- they must have been under surveilance.
The stupid thing is I THOUGHT Paypal had reversed the charge but they HAVE NOT- as soon as I deposited money in my bank account (it was overdrawn), Paypal hit it again with the same charge, which I could not stop as Paypal had locked my account. So now I’m still waiting the 7-10 days to get my money reversed from them.
Oh well, it could have been worse, a full-blown identity theft would suck.
