White Dog Loves Showers

I don’t know what it is with Jack Russells, but they really seem to like water. My last dog, Jackie, would swim underwater in my pool for 30+ seconds at a time, for hours on end. And when I took a shower, she would scratch on the glass shower door until I would let her in, then she’d “bite” at water for my whole time in shower.

Isis is turning out to be the same way- when I take a shower, she has to join me (this has just happened in past week- dogs are so strange in the way their behavior changes). She doesn’t “bite” at water like Jackie, but is happy just to sit in the spray- and she doesn’t like to look up when the water hits her eyes. With her longer hair for winter, it kind of sucks as I have to dry her off too, and she still smells like “wet dog”- unless I put a little conditioner on her. But she definitely is a clean dog…

Eric, that video of Jackie diving is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

I’m pretty sure I saw you today. Were you with your lady friend on Main and 3rd around 2-2:30? I drove past you in a dark blue Mercedes 560 SEL.

Hey Li- that must have been me and Yan- we had lunch at Blu L.A.- VERY COOL PLACE! It’s funny as I just read your post about Cole’s- right next door to Blu, but I have not been there yet, and want to go BAD. I hope to run into you, your significant other and kiddo sometime. Your stories about downtown make me smile…

Hey, thanks for visiting my blog, where I posted about Cole’s and meeting Li.

It’s funny about dogs. I had a mutt-shepherd something mix who was inexpicably attracted to water - you had to keep him leashed whenever you got near a lake or a pond or a pool, otherwise in he’d go. My most recent dog was a malamute who not only hated standing water, but also was reluctant to go out to do his business if it was raining.

I love downtown, even though we live in Topanga - about as different from downtown as you can get.

    I’ll check out your blog.

Eric, I’ve been thinking of stopping by the dog walk with Kidlo just so I can meet some of the bloggers and local peeps. Do you know where I can see the dog walk schedule?

Li- 2ne Wednesday of every month is Downtown dog walk- check the link for “Dog Walk Downtown” on my blogroll (it’s not updated very often though). You’ll meet many bloggers- Celia and Jim attend frequently, B, H, and Carter, Downtown Bruin and Dodger Dog are founders, LA Lola will hopefully get new mother Nina out for a stroll. Isis LOVES little kids- as they are her size and she thinks it’s so cool. People are a little nervous as Isis get so happy, but as long as I make sure she doesn’t knock someone over with her jumps, she is just fine w/ kids.

    Hey E,

Thanks for the reminder about the dogwalk. ATL and I have been unable to attend the last 2 walks due to scheduling conflicts. For ATL and I, it’s a great opportunity to see everyone and catch up a bit and Suzy and Dakota usually have a good time at the walks as well.

D- I hope to see you and A at the dog walk… or even sooner on Broadway… thank goodness you live in a “newer” renovation, as I just got back from trying to see when I will get hot water in my place, and it is not looking good. I’m going to try boiling some hot water now…
