White Dog Loves JRT-TV
I’ve never seen a dog that can pick up on other dogs on television like White Dog- sometimes a random dog food commercial will come on and all of a sudden Isis will lunge at TV, snapping and biting at the screen. I haven’t been able to catch that in progress, but recently there was Jack Russell racing on TV, and Isis watched the entire show with me, mesmerized by the action.
Isis’ parents were both racers (I did not know at the time I selected the breeder that she bred racing dogs- I thought she bred “go-to-ground” dogs which is a more intelligence-oriented sport rather than focusing on pure speed). But if you ever saw Isis off the leash, at a dog park or racing around the Higgins halls when she sneaks out the door, you would know that racing is in her blood… (watching JRT racing is pretty entertaining- watch the dogs all crash into each other and the wall, trying to get into the “box” first- and notice that many times the winner will go around the hurdles- a much further route, but turn on the “after-burners” and still win the race).
i love JRT’s at the dog park…they get my pups all nice and tired. Mine aren’t nearly as fast, but don’t tell them that, they love to chase anyways.

There’s also a weekly dog walk in Arts District Saturdays at 9:30am put on by walkfido.com - I want to do that but right now my big weekend workout conflicts (I’ll just have to switch things around once I get used to new routine).

Carter has a thing with dogs on tv, or anything that appears to be similar to dogs. His new thing is to jump off the couch, get close to the tv, then growl and bar.
