Getting Settled In…
It’s been about 3 weeks that I’ve been in my new loft, and this week things are finally starting to feel “normal”. I have figured out how to store most everything (I still have a couple of boxes that I have no room for but that’s life in a loft). I have realized that I still have a ton of stuff I really should sell- like some antique china and silver from a great grandmother that was not opened in 2 1/2 years and probably will not be opened anytime soon- it is heavy and big in it’s packing).
I’m really loving my loft, the building and occupants, and the neighborhood. Yesterday I decided to relax a little and went to the rooftop pool for the first time. I’ve been up there looking around before, and there were always people there, unlike many loft pools I’ve seen (I think it has something to do with all the younger, single people here). When I arrived yesterday, there were just 4 guys sitting around talking about gay porn- kinda awkward, but what was worse (funnier) is that I had to angle my lounge chair to facing them in order to face the sun- “whatcha looking at?” ha ha ha…
Eventually they leave and I decided to snap some photos- the roof is very clean, has bathrooms, a nice gazebo with clean, soft furnature, and a good assortment of lounge chairs. The views are amazing and the breeze up there is delightful- much better than a ground-level swimming pool. I’ll post pics of inside of loft as soon as I take out the remaining moving trash (it’s a pain-in-the-ass to go to dumpster- you have to go out of back of building, down an alley, and unlock a door to get into trash room). But for now, here’s the roof:
