Higgins Hot Water Woes Continue
It looks like I got out of Higgins just in time- these messages came through yesterday- I love the way the Property Manager says “..there IS hot water” (my emphasis) while people are saying they don’t have hot water no matter how long they let the water run. Finally it appears they called a serviceman for today. Meanwhile, I’m laughing as I’m taking a steaming hot shower in my oversized, glass enclosed bath with water pressure that can peel my skin…

We saw a note that the water would be turned off yesterday in the
morning, and heard the announcement that the water had been restored.
Somewhere in that process we lost hot water. Anyone else?
We have a slight hint of warm, but not hot.

Resident #2:
Ditto, though my shower this morning was tolerable.
(Front Desk) says we just have to run the hot for a bit.
The system must be re-setting

Property Manager:
Dear Residents;
This is just to inform you that there is hot water. Due to yesterday’s
shut – off by the DWP – it takes time for the boiler to supply the hot
water in the building.

Resident #3:
I still only have like warm water in xxx

4 hours later and I still have luke warm water after cold water this
morning. And assurances that it was fine and fixed this morning. I do
not wish to go thru this unpleasnat episode of cold and warm water
again. Can we please have someone out here ASAP? Tomorrow if possible,
to get this resolved

(Front Desk) said someone is coming in the morning. Hope it’s a quick fix.

I guess they are having more problems- a memo was just sent out by property manager informing:
“This memo is to inform all the residents at Higgins Loft that the water will be shut off in the entire building due to domestic water pumps repair – replacement of the isolation valves on Monday, August 31, 2009, from 2:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.”
Having NO water for 10 hours sucks- no flushing toilet, no showers, etc… I am SO lucky to not be there anymore- I wish I had moved a year earlier but I dreaded that “move” thing.
