This Should Be An Interesting Movie Shoot

Where I used to live, near City Hall, we had lots of filming, and with The Edison bar in my buildng, we had visits from many movies/shows. Only the show “24″ in my memory had a lot of gun fire and noise.

In my new ‘hood, CST-New York “owns” Spring St. between 6th and 7th- they are ALWAYS filming here- I have never watched the show so I’m not don’t know what it looks like on TV, but in real life it is terrible- slow motion car wrecks, dumbass extras, etc.

But now that I live on Spring, I’m seeiing a lot more “gritty” movie shoots- check out the description for this one (INCEPTION- code named “Oliver’s Arrow” with Leo DiCaprio, etc.

DESCRIPTION OF SCENE: EXTERIOR SEMI-AUTO ¼ LOAD GUNFIRE BEFORE 9:00 A.M. EXTERIOR AUTO, FULL LOAD GUNFIRE AFTER 9:00 A.M. *Pending Community Survey * Simulated car crash with train. Breaking glass. Simulated bullet effects on body and things. Atmospheric smoke effects. Weapons brandished. Driving scenes. Equipment on property, sidewalk, curb lane and across the street. Exterior dialogue. Occasional traffic and pedestrian control. Near hits & misses. Stunt driving. Process trailer. Rain effects. Wetting of the street. Camera car. Condor and crane. Generator. Picture vehicles. Scissor lifts. FILML.A. MONITOR REQUIRED 9/19-9/20, 4:00 A.M. -10:00 P.M.

This stuff is cool, but with all of the people LIVING downtown now, it sometimes is tough when the sidewalk outside of my building is full/cut=off with security and extras standing around.

I am really interested in the “simulated car crash with train”- WTF? There are no train tracks here… I think that is part of problem with new movies, way too much computer-generated effects.

Yeah, I’m just whining- I actually am happy that downtown is booming, and that Hollywood wants to film here. Please keep filming downtown and not moving to Canada.

CDC- Stop by and show me how to do the Craft Trucks- I’d love the food.

But in any event- hit me me up with your new gig… Life is so crazy…

I had to drive into work today, and dang it if all my normal cheap(er) parking lots were being gobbled up by the film crews today. There’s a lot going on right now! From 4th street all the way down to 6th, it appears.

Hey LA LOLA! I hope all is well with you and the pooches.

My morning dog walk was disrupted too- the sidewalk was basically blocked to pedestrians at 8:30 am. But I think my STFU t-shirt got a little attention as I was not happy when I asked if I could walk down the sidewalk.

I have such a love-hate relationship with film cresw- honestly, I have not been to a movie in over 10 years, but I repect the work they do.

Give the pooches a “pat” for me.

    E,

It’s very easy, just walk right up like you own the place. Either that, or pick up a box or some other type of equipment and set it down by the truck. Then chow down!
