Shoe Wiz Brings Shoes Back To Life
I feel very lucky to have found Shoe Wiz Instant Shoe Repair about 3 blocks from my loft. It’s a big place as far as the cobblers I’ve seen, but they have everything shoe-related and all the equpment to do an excellent job. He did a complete resole on my Ferragamos, conditioned and polished them for $59- giving them probably 2 more years of use.
It’s a popular place with people in an out, and sitting at the “bar” waiting. A real hot lady came in and the guy knew her, so I asked her how often she’d been there- she said it was her 3rd time and loved how convenient the place was. She comment how good my shoes looked. I’m so pissed that I got tongue-tied and didn’t follow up on that (it’s amazing how much more respect/chats I get with my new suit-and-tie look).
Anyway, from anything from a shoe shine to sole/heel replacement- this guy rules:

You’re part of the “establishment” now man.
Never trust anyone over 30! Heh heh.
Cheers.
October 5th, 2009 at 10:22 amCDC- That mosh pit looks just like the bus ride home today…
I thought it was cool to leave at 3:45 but NO- it was so f-ing packed that I was in drivers area, and at one stop driver just opened doors and yelled to let people squeeze in back door if they could (no way in front)- of course they don’t pay, but driver was like “they have to get home too”- actually pretty cool I thought. Stood up for 60 min after a brutal leg workout yesterday and actually was shaking from muscle twitches.
The good part is I’m a good 8 - 12″ taller than any of these latinos/asian punks so I don’t get claustraphobic.
Hit me up and let me know what’s up with your new downtown gig.
October 5th, 2009 at 6:20 pmAs for “suit and tie” dress code- I was told by an employee that the reason management requires the dress code so that it looks like people are competent, when they are not, and I am fast becoming a believer in this…
