Two Bits Market Opened Jan 1st!!!

I’ve been waiting for this market to open for a long time- after reading this article about the place on blogdowntown.com I was hoping for the best.

Well, I walked into the market today- New Years Day- and was pleasantly surprised by what they are doing. MANY fresh fruits and vegetables in bins/baskets, juices I have never seen before, and they sell an eclectic selection of wines and beer. Much of inventory hasn’t arrived yet, but I am so happy for the owners that they FINALLY were able to open.

The clear message that you can learn from this is that you NEED an EXPIDITER to get a new shop or restaurant to get through the mess of hurdles that LA City puts on business owners during the permitting process. Vianey Delgadillo is one strong lady as she is owner/majority partner of both Down and Out bar and Bar 107. I am so happy for her as I always happy when a downtown entreprenuer has success (well, maybe for the exception of the folks that closed my old “go to bar”- The Must).

I know I’ll be shopping at Two Bits when I need fresh produce, and I will continue to support Down and Out and Bar 107 as they are real downtown bars with great bartenders and many cool patrons.

Thank you Vianey, Brandi, and the rest of your crew for fighting and not giving up on getting the market opened. You are my heros!
