My Quality Of Life Went Downhill…
You Los Angeles folks know about the cold/flu I speak of- there is one going around down there that took me out for about a week- no going to gym, no dating, nothing. Then I get up here to Sacto and several co-workers were out my first week due to cold/flu (I never know which is cold or flu- I thought a flu came with stomach issues but what I had was just major cough after fever for a couple of days). And now the cough has returned and sounds terrible.
So I’ve stayed home yesterday, and now today- I don’t want to be the “new guy” bringing sickness to everyone. It is funny how times have changed- when I was just out of college we took pride in coming to work no matter how sick we were. Now you are frowned on if you sneeze. And at the GOV building- there is hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE- in the elevator lobby on every floor. When I was introduced to a co-worker that shook my hands, he immediately said “I just sanitized my hands, do not worry”.
It sucks being politically correct but I think this is in the best interest of my contract…
