Illicit Activities Here in Capitol Towers???
This place really is “on the ball” with communications- they have a decent blog and take survey via web. And they communicate via e-mail, which I love. So today I get an interesting e-mail addressed to residences here- excerpt below:
Dear Valued Residents,
Here at Capitol Towers we take pride in creating an outstanding living environment for all of our residents. Apartment living requires the consideration of all residents living within the community. In doing so, it is sometimes necessary to bring to your attention the concerns of your neighbors and/or our staff.
It has been brought to management’s attention by several residents that on numerous floors, including the 4rth and 11th , that there are residents that are excessively smoking. This is causing neighbors to be disturbed. Please keep in mind that you live in close proximity with your neighbors and this may be very disturbing to them. Most of the complaints are not about cigarette smoke, we are having an issue mainly with smoke from illegal substances. This is a serious matter, and action will be taken with those residents who do not comply. Please refer to the following excerpts from your Lease Agreement, which states:
18. General Restrictions: The resident agrees not to… use the unit for unlawful activities;…
LOL!!! No, I don’t live on the 4th or 11th floor LOL!!!
I have had bronchiatis lately and not been able to take my “prescription”. I think I’d be on the street by now if my friend who owns a dispensary came over to split up some large quanities of “medicine” for her dispensary and the smell would knock you over at the elevator. And YES she has a license to poseess and it would be an interesting problem- but hey, I’m in Sacto and she is in LA- I guess “thank goodness”
Oh, I miss DTLA….
So cigarette smoke is fine, but weed smoke is a nuisance? That’s twisted logic. If they’re gonna ban smoke, then it seems that all smoke should be banned. And where is the smell coming from–behind locked doors?
Plus, doesn’t a 215 card make it legal?
Did you get on the waiting list for a unit on the 4th or 11th floors yet, Eric?

LOTS of hippie-types up here- my boss is middle aged lady w/ pony tail to her butt and wears very “earthy” stuff- I’ll bet she has a card LOL… GOV does total background/fingerprint check but not drug tests… hmmm… I hope they make it legal to not discriminate if you have a card. I’ve done 2 contracts at Toyota and they piss test you and don’t care what card you have- I got lucky as my agent was cool and my results got “lost”.
March 26th, 2011 at 10:10 amSecurity here is really lax in some aspects- no doorman (doors are locked at night but propped open lots)- I’ve had a solicitor already.
But neighbor tells me security knocked on his door to tell him his TV was too loud. I think that was w/o a complaint. My home theater system is for sale now, nevertheless- don’t need security knocking on my door.
