Wow! When Trees Turn Green It Is Cool!
Something I have not experienced for dozens of years is the “Turning of the Green”- seeing the ugly sticks of trees turning into lush, green, blockers of sight (LOL). I grew up in Indiana with my backyard being the “woods”. Trees were UGLY during winter, but then one day I would wake up and there were no more “sticks”- just green leaves. And at same time, the ugly gound of dirt turned into a blanket of flora- mostly Violets and Lady Bell flowers- it was so energizing seeing this change in one night.
It’s about to happen here in Sac- all the trees have little leaves, but I think the cold weather has kept the full-blown effect to happen.
This next week is going to make my ‘hood look so different. I love LA so much, and don’t miss trees looking ugly, leaves falling in autumn, and having to rake them, but while I’m here, I’m looking forward to the next few days- the streets are going to change their look dramatically.
This pic from my balcony shows the little leaves coming out- one warm day or another couple days an my view will be all green- I am sure. Spring is HERE!

Yo E, long time no see. How goes it? After scrolling through your posts it looks like you moved up in the world. Good for you brotha! Cheers.
April 15th, 2011 at 9:46 amHey Detective J!
I wouldn’t say moving “up”- except for geographically. SacroLAMEo is pretty boring, but I’m just here to work. Probably be back in LA just in time for The Must to open in Pershing Square- we’ll have to have a drink and catch up.
Stay SAFE!!!
April 15th, 2011 at 1:48 pmWork is work; I hear ya. Yep, we’ll definitely catch up. Be well.
April 15th, 2011 at 3:49 pmHey Detective J (or have you moved up again?)- keep downtown free of the gang-bangers so I can once again enjoy my dog walks.
I live right in DT Sacto and it’s honestly scarier here at night as I am near a homeless shelter and cheap hotel, plus a vacant street mall where ‘bangers seem to like to think they’re “scaring Whitey” LOL. I think only my dog saved me a couple of times, as they know I belong here too- I will walk anywhere.
I’ve only seen cop cars twice since I’ve been here (a few Homeland Security vehicles too because of GOV stuff).
You and LAPD make DTLA a GREAT F-ING PLACE TO LIVE! THANK YOU! I LOVE LA.
