I know there is not a thing anyone can do about this particular closure, as it needs to happen for the widening of 2nd St. But I really did not see it coming- I thought they were taking 1 lane away from 2nd St, westbound between Los Angeles St and Main St- no big [...]

I really love weekends downtown, as it is usually very quiet in the morning, and stays relatively quiet all day (depending on construction at LAPD HQ- they are allowed to begin work at 8am on weekends).
