I was walking home today from a stop at Grand Street Market, and I ran into my homeless friend Troy (he is usually found on Broadway between 3rd and 2nd St.) I don’t know why, maybe I was feeling “chatty”, but I sat down on sidewalk with him and we did chat for awhile.
Then […]

On my noon White Dog walk I was heading home, W. on 2nd St. from Los Angeles St. to Main St., passing by the old cathedral/mission as I usually do to avoid the mass of dogs on the “CalTrans” or north side of 2nd St. At the light, a group of ladies that had been following me […]

I found a site that allows you to “draw” your route via mouse clicks, and it will calculate the exact mileage (and calories burned, which I don’t consider to be accurate but it’s a nice “gauge” of effort). This app also takes into account elevation changes, something the normal Google Maps data does not include, […]

At the beginning of March, Loftydog, the pet store/groomers that was next to my building, moved to their new “Bark-er Lofts” location in the Arts District (525 South Hewitt). I was able to get Isis in for one final grooming before they left, but now she needs a good clean-up and trim (thank god her […]

I just got back from a great dog walk with other downtown bloggers- Joe and Ruby, Celia, Jim and Wonton, Ken and Dodger Dog and Aggie, and a few other dogs were all walking together from Pershing Square to Staples Center / Nokia Theater (where we were kicked out of the courtyard- no dogs!)
Isis was better […]

I love this pic- someone sent it to me (it’s from “Mad Max- Beyond the Thunderdome” I believe).
It would make a great Halloween costume except I’m sure I would be smoked by a cop before I went a block… maybe I’ll try it without a gun.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving- I was feeling a little depressed. Holidays and injuries some times do that to me. My shoulder is still screwed up (dislocated again) so I’m going to just rest until Monday- eat a lot and sleep a lot!
The homeless guy I was going to take to buffet ended up […]

a target=”_blank” href=”http://citycenterpoz.blogspot.com/” mce_href=”http://citycenterpoz.blogspot.com/”>Joe and I, and Ruby (his English Bull Terrier) and Isis had a great time this afternoon, walking through Skid Row. Joe knew many people, and I had a blast meeting folks down there. I will be back tomorrow. Joe is a genuine great guy and we will have fun too.
I wish […]

As I’ve been walking White Dog more and more (4x a day, 1/2 hr to 45 min per walk) I’ve started checking out new areas. One day I went south from Little Tokyo (I think Little Tokyo is technically 3rd St. and north) and I went down 4th St. between Los Angeles and Central. What […]

I think I just spent the best $$$ ever on White Dog - I had Dave from www.walkfido.com over for 3 hours this afternoon. I have been suffering from a pulled lumbar muscle and was ready to cancel as my back kills me, and maybe I was suffering from a little anxiety too as some […]
