Oh, and Isis still has to bark at other dogs to make sure they don’t attack this pack LOL. What a pain-in-the-ass. If a skateboard comes by, all hell breaks loose. I’ve never held the 130 lb dog’s leash but it must be amazing when 20 lb Isis is trying to kill a skateboard and these other dogs are like “WTF?”

But I have lots of inso to share with you on the Sac politcal scene- I HATE politics in general, some mayors and governers in particular. So this is gonna be negative- fasten you seatbelt.

Here’s me in my new SacTown “dog walk” garb- it gets so cold up here (for a Skidrowdude). Gloves, scarf and beanie are necesssy at 5 am or 7 pm.

Two reasons this really pisses me off is they clog the sidewalks- I don’t ride the bus here but I walk by many bus stops and I cannot understand how some of these people do it with literaly a suitcase on daily commuter bus. Is it that the bigger your suitcase that you drag into work every morning make you look more important? Or just stupid.

The other reason is where I live is kind of like a “campus” where tons of people walk by my 3rd floor apt and the noise that these things makes reminds of being in LAX airport at times.

Ok, rant done for the day…

So here in Sacramento there are a bizillon workers with leaf blowers- I have been sick the past few days and these damn things start around 8am and it’s like dueling banjos- one guy has to rev his up louder than the next. And I do mean “rev it up” like are getting ready to launh a Corvette at the stoplight.

When did raking and using a broom become old school. When did blowing crap all around to other peoples houses become permissible? When I had my house in LA, I had a “sealed” back yard with tall wood fence around a swimiing pool and all tile- no grass (I know- that is LA). For awhile I had a gardening company that sent these idiots that thougt that blowing dust into my pool and under my deck was their job. (I really just wanted them to prune/water the plants but that is a lost art).

Sac is funny too because people just place piles of tree trimmings and leaves in the curb- parking spots. Once in a while a street crew comes by and cleans up the mess, but not before the wind distrutes it.

For all the bad rep Downtown LA gets about being dirty, etc they had a great crew of people SWEEPING the sidewalks like clockwork. And most business power washed the sidewalks. Sure, you’d see the occasional homeless person or drunk bar-rat peeing in the corners, but you see that in every metropolis.

One of the grossest things I see here daily is the sidewalk is almost white from bird crap (lots of trees) and this is at the bus stop. They really need some of those mini-street sleeps they use in LA for the sidewalks.

The my g/f friend sent another stuffed toy- a big lobster. I am glad I did not do much to clean up first mess as there is stuffing everywhere. I think a one-pound slab of beef jerky would last longer with White Dog.

Isis Loved Her New Toy

One of the guys told me that Sacramento was considered the city with the greatest number of trees in the U.S. Of course I think it’s very hard to confirm a comment like this- I know many places in say, Michingan where the pine trees/evergreens are so thick you cannot walk through anywhere. But there is not a major city there. And defintely, the first thing I noticed about SacTown was the amazing number of trees- not palm trees, lining the sidewalks and in people’s yards.

I’m just glad I don’t own a house here with a large yard/acreage at I HATE raking leaves and they are all over the place here- anytime of year. Fall must be crazy with leaves everywhere.

But it does make the place seem a little bit more like “Anytown, USA” than te metropolis that LA is- sure, LA has “pockets” of trees (Palos Verdes, Bel Air, etc) but nothing like here. I will enjoy the shade while I can…

This new band reminds me a lot of Collective Soul, one of my favorite bands- if you like this song, search on YouTube.com as there are many versions- live, acoustic, etc- I hope I get to see them sometime soon…

Here’s a Collective Soul song I was referring to, in the acoustic versiion- slightly different audience though, as it was filmed in an alley in Morocco.

I really wanted to buy this hand-made sterling silver and distressed copper tag- the only problem was that it did not allow engraving enough info as it was hand- engraved too. So I liked it so much I bought it for my girlfriend and had a nice simple engraving to her put on it. I hope she’ll just put a ribbon on it and hand it around her mirror in bedroom, bathroom, or even car mirror. I know if I saw it hanging somewhere it would make me smile- I hope it makes her happy but I know it’s kind of wierd, getting a “dog tag” for a girl- but I like the tag, and the engraving is special.

A new contractor at GOV job was hired who takes around 6 smoke breaks a day- avg time 10 min each. But he does not take a lunch break LOL, so I’m sure he bills all his time. And companies would not let me work for them because I had THC in my system from when I smoked a joint because I could not sleep 30 days ago? What is this world coming to? Nicotene is clearly addictive, and tobacco smoke causes many health problems (lung cancer, emphazima), that we as tax payers end up paying for. And the government continues to take lobbiest money from these tobbaco companies that are destroying peoples lives.

My co-worker? He’s a good guy- I really wish he’d see the light as I’m sure he does not want a painful death.
